Founded by musician, social entrepreneur, and Miami native Portia Dunkley, ACF  connect's project partner Music of the Unsung America: Celebrating Black Composers in the Shadows of History is a multi-event concert and conversation series that spotlights Black performers presenting works by Black music creators.⁣
 ⁣
In 2 new calls for scores, Music of the Unsung America seeks preexisting chamber ensemble works and preexisting orchestra or orchestra + chorus works from music creators who identify as Black and have substantial ties and/or are permanently residing in South Florida (see complete guidelines for details) for a performance by a new Southern Florida–based ensemble, scheduled to take place in 2021.⁣
