Today was incredible, I spent an incredible day at Lady Haig’s Poppy Factory today, celebrating VE Day and liberation day , this year it’s the 80th anniversary of the war ending in 1945. It was heartwarming to see children learning about the stories of our veterans and the impact they made. I had the honor of reading a letter from John, a 100-year-old WW2 veteran, whose words were a true reminder of the sacrifices made for our freedom. The children wrote letters in return to John and I can’t imagine how touched he will be when he is given them. My heart can’t take it 🫶🏻

Huge thanks to the Together Coalition for bringing me to this meaningful event. Let’s all come together to celebrate on May 8th! Join in the festivities with the Great British Food Festival, host breakfasts, street parties, and gatherings. Let’s honor those who fought for our freedom and continue to bring our communities together. 

Schools can all get involved with VEMail too and write letters to our hero’s !
