A potential snowstorm and significant cold front are predicted to impact the Carolinas this weekend, with weather models offering differing forecasts. The Euro model, known for its consistency, shows a little bit of snow coming in Saturday morning for Western North Carolina and parts of South Carolina, but it keeps things mainly dry and refined to the North Carolina mountains Saturday and Saturday night.

Sunday could bring some seriously cold air, rivaling the coldest temperatures experienced so far this season, with cold conditions expected to persist for at least the next 10 days. The GFS model, which has shown some big storms but has been inconsistent, predicts Thursday's system could bring snow to North Alabama and North Georgia before moving into the eastern Carolinas. It suggests the mountains may block much of the snow from reaching the Western Carolinas, a scenario considered somewhat unrealistic but worth monitoring.
