Tracing 100 years of Tokyo through ongaku kissa—music cafés devoted to deep listening—A Century in Sound reveals how these spaces became refuges where communal listening and hi-fi sound converge. As vinyl listening bars proliferate across the U.S., the film offers vital historical context for today’s hi-fi and contemporary listening cultures.
