Cristhian Ortiz Elizarbe, PMP, is thinking big: “I want to inspire 1 billion children all around the world.” First up: Giving young people across Latin America an affordable way to learn English as a second language—and paving their way to greater opportunities. “We are not only teaching English,” he says. “We are developing the new leaders of tomorrow.”
 
The #PMIFuture50 leader was motivated by his childhood experiences in Perú, where the only formal English instruction available was at a private institution his family couldn’t afford. Tapping into his own experience learning through books, video and podcasts, he developed an immersive virtual classroom. And it’s free.
 
At its core, the Learn and Share English program is designed to serve as a springboard for students’ personal development and, ultimately, their career growth. So the group is also teaching project management to 1,000 high school and university students. “We created an alliance with PMI to bring the power of project management to the kids,” says Ortiz Elizarbe.
