Did you eat too much turkey and stuffing, or were you just carb loading for a different kind of leg day? Turn that fuel into fun by choosing your own #GreenFriday adventure in Olympic!

Mountains 🏔️ - Hurricane Ridge officially opens for winter today! Weather permitting, the road will be open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through March 30, 2025 (closed December 25, Christmas Day). The area will also open for a maximized holiday schedule: December 20-January 5, January 17-20, and February 14-17. For a safe trip, check the road status on our website, call the Road & Weather line at (360) 565-3131, and come prepared with extra food, water, dry clothing, and blankets.

Wild Coast 🌊 - Kalaloch, Mora and Ozette are open year-round, weather permitting. Check the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s tide predictions before planning any coastal hike.

Rainforests 🌲 - Throughout the winter season, rain falls frequently in the Hoh, Queets and Quinault Valleys, contributing to their yearly average precipitation range of 100-170 inches. This water produces lush, green forests blanketed with mosses. Check the park website to learn about open facilities, trails and recreational opportunities in these otherworldly rainforests.

If you’re still too stuffed to move, you can always enjoy the view from our webcams! The Hurricane Ridge webcams were restored last year thanks to our partners at Washington’s National Park Fund!
