7 years away from playing.⁣⁣

4 years of which you never did so much as pick up a bat or play catch. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Yesterday marked the end of the first half of the season.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
To say I am proud of all that you have accomplished this far is an understatement.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
In half a season you have put up more home runs than you did in your entire affiliate ball career and over half of your career total RBIs. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
But this isn’t what impresses me. What makes this experience so beautiful is I get to watch you thrive.⁣⁣

I saw first hand how tormented your heart was,  for years I watched it tear you apart, break you down and then piece by piece I have watched you put yourself back together not into the boy you once were but the man you were always meant to become. ⁣⁣

That boy you once were couldn’t hold a candle to the man you are today both on and off the field.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
This isn’t a comeback…this is a rebirth, a new beginning and it is truly awe inspiring to bare witness to. ⁣⁣
