⁣This day always catches me by surprise, but I always feel the need to post. There are some new followers on here, and some of you may know that before all this cooking, working out and nutrition, I used to be a gymnast. In fact, it was a part of my life for 22 years. It is the only thing I knew, it was the only I ever wanted, it was my whole identity. That is how people knew me, oh you’re the gymnast.⠀

Not only did the sport teach me how to be aware of my body, but it taught me struggle, it taught me life lessons. I went through victories and defeats, injuries, body image issues and heart break, but nothing feels better than working through and overcoming all the adversities you dealt with. I would not be the person I am today with out this sport, it shaped me in to who I am today. ⠀

After competing at ASU, and my career came to an end, you could say I was lost. I didn’t know who I was at that time. It took me quit some time to figure out my next stages in life. For a while I coached because I couldn’t come to terms with letting it go. But eventually I came to find an interest in the gym and lifting. Then it grew to my curiosity in nutrition and how food effects the body. All of that brought me to where I am today.⠀

I am a big believer in the saying “When one door closes another door opens" For those of you who are going through a phase where you are trying to figure out the rest of your life, I am here to tell you that you will get there. You will find your passion, just never give up and never settle until you get what you want. Thank you gymnastics for the wonderful experiences, memories and lessons that I will have for a life time. Happy National Gymnastics days. ⠀
