If you want credentials to any kind or “major” sporting event, YOU NEED A REASON TO BE THERE. Someone that needs your photography and for you to take up space on the sideline or trackside, and be in harms way. 

For racing events, you need a team, driver, sponsor, manufacturer or a large editorial outlet that would justify you being there. Having a camera and just wanting a better seat, is not a reason to have credentials to anything. These series simply cannot and should not credential everyone that applies for a media pass. 

If you want to prove yourself and make pictures that people will start to notice, do what I’m ALWAYS suggesting. And go to races and events as a fan and bring your camera. Make cool pictures. Network and meet people. Put some work into this. Treated like a hobby and it will always be a hobby. Treat it like a business, and it might just turn into one.
