Today is World Diabetes Day. This is my daughter, the love of my life. She was diagnosed with Type 1 eight years ago and we (my husband and I) decided in the hospital that we would continue life as normal, so she would know nothing could hold her back. We didn’t really have a choice, though, because she was playing little league and demanding to go back to school the day after we were discharged. She’s unstoppable and a lot cooler than me, but she has to do a lot of work 24/7 that I wish she didn’t. And we all love our kids so fiercely, so this is my annual reminder of the most common signs that your kid (or even an adult loved one) might be a Type 1 diabetic.❣️ Extreme thirst ❣️ Sudden weight loss/appetite change ❣️ Fatigue ❣️Increased restroom trips.
