#DYK that in 2014, Charlayne Hunter-Gault was a Freedom Award honoree? 

She was known for being one of the first Black students to enroll at the University of Georgia. 

Additionally, with more than 40 years in the industry, Hunter-Gault is an award-winning journalist and has worked for news organizations such as The New Yorker, The New York Times, NPR, PBS, and CNN. 

She is also admired for her work in human rights and earned several awards for covering these important stories.
