On January 17, join us where the UN began, to discuss its future.

80 years after the very first UN General Assembly, world leaders, civil society, and changemakers will gather in London in the same historic room for a landmark public event marking #UNGA80.

Hosted by the United Nations Association - UK (una_uk), the event at Methodist Central Hall Westminster will feature a keynote address by UN Secretary-General António Guterres (antonioguterres). We’re happy to share that Professor Brian Cox (profbriancox), recently appointed UN Champion for Space, will also join to speak about the role of space in advancing global cooperation and tackling challenges on Earth. 🌍🛰️

Back in 1946, a war-scarred London reminded delegates of why the UN was created. In 2026, this anniversary is not just a moment to reflect, but a call to look ahead to shape the UN of the future.
