January 12th is National Pharmacist Day! Today recognizes and promotes the role of pharmacists in improving the health of others.  For today, Howard letterpress printed a woodcut, made roughly 130-135 years ago, from Lewis Winter Collection. The woodcut is of a cross with Rx in the middle, which is the symbol for pharmacy. We are not sure why Winter kept the corners on the woodcut though. This was printed with black rubber base ink using our Washington hand press. #SacHistoryMuseum #pharmacist #museum #printing #sacramento
