Some parting thoughts from NZ:

-Started our trip with golf so that we could ship our clubs and golf clothes home. Managed the rest of the trip with carry-ons (I was truly impressed with myself). Made for very easy airport travel. Btw NZ’s domestic travel is fantastic and all of the airports have shockingly fresh, delicious food. What a concept.

 - I highly recommend tearailinks as not just a golf bros trip, but as a trip you can do with non-golfers or people who don’t want to play 36 a day. There is so much more to do than just golf. Best cappuccino we had all trip was at the North Club house.

-Next we went down to wharekauhau to see sheep and the sheep dogs do their thing. It was so wonderful to stay on a real working farm right on the coast. Real Anne of Green Gables vibes. We e-biked to the top of a mountain, saw wild goats and pigs, I almost died on the way down but worth it. I probably would’ve added a day in Wellington to go to the wildlife sanctuary there but next time. They had a unique wine pairing with dinner every night and did such a great job with food and bev.

-Ended the trip in Queenstown- great base for all of your activities, but you don’t need more than an afternoon to explore the city itself. Jack’s Point for some beautiful golf if you’re up for it. Lots of people rave about fergburger. I’m sure it’s great, but it always has a 2 hour line. We skipped the line and went to fergbaker right next door to get meat pies instead (jeehaeda rec). Coming out of the bakery if you turn right, there is a little coffee shop down an alley called the drop cafe where you can get an excellent coffee and eat your pie at a hightop outside. We stayed at blanket_bay and did an insane helifishing trip with our guy Ethan topofthelake_guiding …another day we hiked the first part of the Routeburn track, a 9 mile out and back (go straight to the overflow parking, it’s closer to the trailhead). You can make this trek even harder by hiking to the hut and beyond.

The trip from SF was shockingly easy. Go to sleep and wake up and it’s only a 3 hour (and a day) time difference. Planning for the next trip starts now!
