The hit that changed college football history

December 31, 2022. The Peach Bowl. Ohio State is leading Georgia 35-24, and Marvin Harrison Jr. is putting on a clinic (5 catches, 106 yards, 2 TDs). Then, the hit happened. With 35 seconds left in the 3rd, C.J. Stroud launched a rainbow to the back of the end zone. Georgia’s Javon Bullard came across and delivered a massive blow that left MHJ motionless on the turf. A flag for targeting was thrown immediately, which would have given OSU 1st-and-goal at the 2-yard line. But after the review, the officials picked up the flag.

The Buckeyes settled for a field goal, lost their best player to a concussion, and Georgia went on to win 42-41. To this day, fans are still asking: How was that not targeting? 🗣️🥊
