Back in college I went down a path of weight loss

I remember coming home for summer & feeling gross. I was also at the heaviest weight I had ever been.

This was from a school year of binge drinking, eating like 🗑️ , and I had recently got off birth control so my hormones were adjusting.

I got to work & ended up losing around 14lbs. in a few months. My pants size went all the way down to a 0.

I “looked better” (thought I did at the time), but ignored every other factor:

- Eating way too little calories per day and close to no carbs

- Doing fasted cardio in the morning to burn extra cals 🤦🏻‍♀️

- Constantly feeling sore. I would wake up & my body would feel like I got hit by a bus. I actually liked this feeling bc I thought it meant I was making progress in the gym 😵‍💫

- Oh & I was still binge drinking so every weekend resulted in a binge drunk eating bc I was so strict on myself

Although I was now my lowest weight, I felt like shit.

I wasn’t healthy all around

I wasn’t happy

It was having an effect on my relationship with food & life

I had to be so controlling of my diet & it was on my mind 24/7

Living like this to keep the scale from going up is NOT IT.

When I learned how to properly eat for my goals, to build muscle, feel good, actually SEE the results of my hard work in the gym …

The scale went up 10 lbs

My jeans size went back up a few sizes

But I was so much happier.

I was healing my relationship with food & my body

I was becoming so much stronger

I got rid of the extra stress of the scale & focused on how I felt everyday

I worked on flipping my mindset from lowest weight = healthy to an actual healthy lifestyle = healthy!!

Physically, mentally, emotionally, & spiritually.

Stop dragging yourself through the sewer just to maintain a low number on the scale.

You deserve a lot more than that 🥰

Love,
Coach Alexa
