Did you know that Miles for Migraine has a strong focus on increasing the number of headache specialists in the US? There are currently only 700 headache specialists and over 40 million people with migraine. Quite simply there is a provider shortage and that means long wait times to see a specialist. Headache fellows are doctors who are doing a year of specialty training, to become certified in the field of headache medicine. The funds raised from our walk/run/relax events are donated to support these fellows. We want you to get to know the fellows we are supporting and see exactly where your donation dollars are going - to the future of headache medicine. 

Dr. Evans is a headache fellow at Texas Children's Hospital and is currently enrolled in the Miles for Migraine Advocacy training program ACT-Now. She has also been helping us to promote our upcoming Houston, TX Walk/Run/Relax event and will be attending as part of team TCH Brain Huggers. "Hi there! My name is Danyelle Evans, I am from a small town called Rosanky, Texas, and I am a current Pediatric Headache Fellow. I developed an interest during my pediatric neurology residency program at Colorado Children’s Hospital in headache patients with increased exposure in multidisciplinary, integrative headache clinics. I am drawn to the patient population, the comorbidities of headache, the innovative treatments, as well as the holistic and comprehensive approach to headache management. I am inspired by the patients whose quality of life improves with proper headache treatment and am committed to help those who continue to battle their symptoms."
