Fashionable. Sarcastic. Creative.

Those are just three words that Jebron Perkins of #WashU24 uses to describe themselves. As someone majoring in computer science and minoring in Korean and dance, Jebron spends their days crunching data in class, and evenings are spent choreographing performances, writing poetry, and putting on slams.
Some consider science and the arts to be worlds apart, but according to Jebron, that couldn't be further from the truth. As a computer science major with experience in full-stack web development, Jebron loves science but is just as passionate about performing.

"I am in an improv group called Spish. I dance in Black anthology, as well as Carnaval. I am the co-director and one of the choreographers for the student-run, student-choreographed, student-produced dance show run under the performance arts department. I am VP of our slam poetry group on campus, WUSLAM, and I am also a member of our competitive crew, called B crew. I am an Ervin Scholar and a member of ABS (Association of Black Students) and Pride Alliance.

Having lived in the Virgin Islands, Maryland, Texas, and now St. Louis they have been able to see and experience a lot. Having such experiences has enriched their life and personal style.

"You give me a pair of scissors, and I’ll work it out. I like finding new things. I love going thrifting and looking for things owned by somebody else and turning them into my own. But I also love transcending what people expect. I've unlearned feeling overdressed or underdressed. I wear what I feel fits the moment."

Jebron prides themselves on living a life without limits, and their experience at WashU has reinforced that it's possible to live a multifaceted life.
