Emma Devine ’19 • Believe the Hype

Boston native Emma Devine fell in love with visual storytelling the moment she picked up her family’s Panasonic camera at age 8. Her second love was sports, and Clemson offered her the chance to fuse the two into a career by majoring in marketing and interning with video services. 
.
As a student, she shot videos all over campus. “Working for video services in collaboration with the Clemson social team was such an incredible internship for me,” she says. “There is an underground video community at Clemson, and it’s full of phenomenal creators and people who have gone on to do incredible things.” 
.
That experience helped her earn an internship with the NFL, where one of her pieces aired on TV. And it prepared her for her role as the social media coordinator for Tom Brady’s fitness center and movement @tb12sports. We asked about her journey to her dream job, and here’s what she said.

“Working with and for Tom Brady has been an absolute dream of mine. I have been a fan of his since I was 4 years old, and to grow up and work for a hero of yours is truly an incredible experience. Seeing his passion for this company has really fueled my fire, and seeing how TB12 has helped other clients is very inspiring.”

What advice does she have for Clemson students chasing big dreams?
“Don’t worry if you have no idea what you want to do in life. No one does. College is the perfect time to find something you are passionate about and hone that skill. I HIGHLY recommend getting an internship or joining a club while in school. Most importantly, enjoy your time at Clemson while you are there.”
