In a time where social media can lead to depression and divisiveness, an Atlanta digital marketing pro became a Nottingham celebrity, finding a brand new family by accident.

A former self proclaimed anti-soccer snob that became virtually surrounded on Twitter, wesleyhall was confused for being Wes Morgan. Yes, the former Forest defender who went on to win the Premier League with Leicester City.

When 'Big Wes' was about to make his 400th appearance for the Reds, NFL fan 'Big Wes' received tweets congratulating him on the milestone on October 28th, 2011.

He decided to embrace the incoming social traffic, talking about a sport just as strange to him as those people he responded to from across the pond.

Soon enough, he learned what offside was from a fan using salt and pepper shakers, listened to Forest matches over the radio and saw his social media following skyrocket. He even gifted his home pub thebrewhousecafe a scarf that hangs from the wall to this day.

Wes eventually became a VIP guest at the City Ground in 2015, taking pictures with the used-to-be strangers, now friends he made online and signing autographs.

"I’ve been the recipient of way more love than I ever expected, all because of a club in Nottingham.
