Inspired by the natural world, London-based winner of the #SpiritofEcstasyChallenge Scarlettyang_ works at the intersection of science, technology, and art. 

Transforming our perceptions of materiality, Yang’s artwork for the Challenge is an ethereal metre-high sculpture made using algae, inspired by the #SpiritofEcstasy. 

Alongside the work of fellow winners Ghizlane Sahli and Bi Rongrong, Yang's final piece will be displayed in London this October before embarking on a global tour.
