Get to know Miami Culture Maker Arthur Alexander: 

“I’m a first generation Jamaican-American born and raised in South Florida. Being a creative and community leader through sport and fashion, I’ve found my purpose in trying to build more for myself and others around me the same.

Running plays a major role in my life, it was something that started as a means to improve my mental health and grew into something much more. My goal has always been to urbanize and help improve the running scene and culture around me.

There are so many accomplishments I’m proud of the Late Night Menu Crew for achieving — from finishing the Chicago Marathon, to being leaders in one of the nations biggest run clubs, Baptist Health Run Club, but what I’m most proud of is how we’ve all supported each other throughout all stages of our personal lives with no question.

My love for streetwear comes from being inspired by the styles of people I look up to. People like my older brother and different athletes and entertainers I’ve always admired. Their presence in my life pushes me to try different things. Where I am now with my style is I wear things I want to keep forever and I also try to put together things I don’t see on everyone.

Black History Month is always important to me because of what proper representation can do for generations to come. For me, just watching people like LeBron James & Barrack Obama to name a few, it means a lot to see how much their presentation and overall image is important to them as well as how they use those resources to elevate others around them.

If I could have any impact with my influence, it would be for people to appreciate the journey and stay consistent.”
