🎙️ Honoring a Lifetime of Service & Dedication 🇺🇸

Today we celebrate the retirement of Zachary Cohen — a true pillar of service, leadership, and community.

Born January 1942, Zachary proudly served our country as a Combat Navy Veteran in Vietnam, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. His commitment to service didn’t stop there.

A lifetime Amateur Radio operator, Zachary dedicated over 16 years to Auxiliary Communications (ACS), serving as Emergency Coordinator for Area 2, then as Section Training Manager, where he helped establish lasting ACS/ARES protocols and standards still used today.

He also gave tirelessly to the amateur radio community as:
📡 Two-term President of the Conejo Valley Amateur Radio Club
📡 Board Member-at-Large through 2025
🏆 Recipient of the Hugh Bosma Amateur Radio Award

During the darkest days of COVID-19, Zachary helped found “The Bored Net”, a check-in network that provided connection, comfort, and calm to isolated radio operators—proving that sometimes, simply being heard can make all the difference.

Above all, he is a proud father of three adult children and a loving grandfather to many.

Thank you, Zachary, for a lifetime of service, leadership, and heart. Your legacy will continue to resonate across the airwaves. 👏📻
