"Whiskey & Firelight" shows a new side to local singer-songwriter Nathan Hedges.

The musician crafted the seven-track EP, set to release on May 19, to work just as easily in a solo, acoustic format as it does in a full band setup. Hedges, who performs in Cities & Coasts and The New Preservation Society, has shifted to smaller shows in recent years.
