While politicians perpetuate lies and promote dehumanizing language, women are dying in our backyards. Where is their media coverage? Where is the investigation into their deaths? Where is the proper and equal treatment by law enforcement, Medical examiners, the media and our society as a whole? 

Please don't try to "other" them by asking if they are migrants or refugees. They are women, precious and sacred. They are mothers not others. They are daughters, sisters and aunties. They were forced to make deadly choices. They were seeking safety and we failed them. They are heroic, each and every one of them.

We are the Battalion Search and Rescue and we search for the lost but not forgotten.
