A congratulatory cake for agencies that didn’t show up.
This video shows us walking into the lobby of the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office lobby.
On the walls: missing persons flyers.
In the field: missing persons they refused to recover.
For more than two years, Battalion Search & Rescue has documented and reported missing persons and human remains in Doña Ana County.
Nearly 40 missing persons located by BSAR.
Over 100 women and young girls found in this county in less than 2 years.
At least six documented sites not responded to.
In multiple cases, deputies flatly stated they, "Would Not Go" — even when sites are mere minutes from an industrial area in Santa Teresa, New Mexico.
These are not rumors.
These are not guesses.
These are found , documented and reported missing persons.
The New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator was also notified.
By law, OMI is required to respond and to coordinate with law enforcement.
Instead, for two years, OMI has falsely claimed that the public must report only through law enforcement.
That is not what state statute says.
The law is clear:
The public may contact either OMI or the Sheriff—and both agencies are required to trigger one another and communicate.
That has not happened.
What did happen:
• Calls for service refused
• Sites left unrecovered
• Human remains abandoned
• Silence instead of action
This is not an isolated failure.
It is a pattern.
And yes—we believe the reason is obvious:
The dead are presumed to be brown, indigenous and or undocumented. Even with the majority of the deaths in this area being women and young girls.
Missing persons flyers on the wall.
Missing people left in the desert.
