Today, our global community of project professionals came together at our Virtual Experience Series 2023: PMXPO to learn how our skills and capabilities need to evolve in our ever-changing, fast-paced world. But our conversations also dug a bit deeper, too. We all heard from incredible experts in the field about the importance of resiliency and power skills for remaining adaptable and agile and how all our actions—even the small ones—can make a large impact on our careers. 

Here's a few highlights that really stuck out: 

"Your brain is for having ideas, not holding them," said Book Club Speaker and author of Come Up For Air, nicholassonnenberg. You need to get them out of your brain and into different buckets so you can not only reduce your stress but be really clear and focused on what matters most. 

Artificial intelligence isn’t here to replace your job said guest speaker Dahlia El Gazzar, Coach, DAHLIA+Agency. “Think of it as a launch pad,” she said—one for testing out new ideas and researching new approaches to improve your efficiency and productivity. 

Project managers need to keep a close eye on how trends like technological advancements, environmental change, and data analytics  will shape the future of the profession and their work agreed all of the leaders from professional project management associations who participated in our Voices from the Profession panel. And we all need to be willing to leverage power skills as often as technical skills in our problem-solving to drive real impact with our work.
