## Caption

Video by joelsartore | This adorable kitten is a four-month-old oncilla zoohuachipa in Peru. As the smallest wildcat species in South America, oncillas like this one will weigh between four and eight pounds (2 to 3.5 kg) when fully grown and measure just over a foot in length (30 cm), not including the tail. These cats share habitat with margays and ocelots. In order to reduce competition for prey and increase their chances of survival, oncillas will take smaller prey like rodents, birds, and insects that are of less interest to the bigger cats.
