For this week’s story of #HowWeMetAtRU, we have chelcp7, stevencmarinos, noel12390, annaa_kennedy & lele_beee ✨

"If you looked at our phones, you would see our group chat name as Rut-gahs. Our friendship started 13 years ago, Freshmen year in 2009. Steven, Lori, Lele and myself were all assigned to the Voorhees dorm on Cook Campus, 3rd floor, to be specific. Steven and I have been friends since day one; we enjoyed our first college meal at Nielson Dining Hall on the first day, and there were too many to count after that. We became friends with Lori and Lele as the days and weeks went on. We were introduced to Anna, who frequently visited Lori and eventually transferred to Rutgers for the remainder of our college time. 

We spent many days/nights going to football games together, going to the same classes when our majors allowed, sharing meals - especially midnight breakfast, watching tv, going out and enjoying everything Rutgers had to offer. Our friendship didn't stop there, with apartments on cook sophomore year, living together on College Ave. junior and senior year and ultimately graduating together in May of 2013. Despite living in different cities and states, our friendship has only strengthened over the years. We have traveled together multiple times and experienced major life events, including moves, engagements, and, most recently, weddings. We have gotten to stand by each other sides as bridesmaids or officiants and ultimately have become family. 

We recently took a trip back to RU to visit all our old stomping grounds and to see how the campus has changed. I always say attending Rutgers was the best decision I ever made. Thank you, RU, for introducing me to my four best friends and the great memories."
