I wanted to introduce you to my favorite nature inspired biohacking toy, as I’ve been unfurling in my body love journey: the Higher Dose PEMF Mat! 

I had first read about the power of grounding mats in Dr. Qing Li’s book, Nature Bathing (which I site often in MY book). PEMF mats (or grounding mats) emit electromagnetic waves that mimic natural frequencies found in nature, stimulating and encouraging your body’s natural recovery process. 💆🏻‍♀️

As you know, I live in the western Catskills, and have been buried under 2 feet of snow, limiting my ability to get outside, get my bare feet on the earth, and go spend time amidst my trees. So as I watch the snow fall outside, I’ve been using this mat to help me further drop in and connect with nature, or at least it’s natural frequencies, to help my body and feel good. 🍃 This mat is so trippy: it’s got the PEMF tech in it, but also has a infrared heat layer, a magnetic layer and my favorite, a layer of crystals (amethyst and obsidian) that generate negative ions when heated up through the infrared layer. ✨

Here’s how I’ve used it so far:
- Laying on it during my morning mediation/journaling routine
- As an epic body reset after a sleepless redeye flight that left me swollen and out of whack
- As the most luxurious winddown routine: i put the mat on my bed, and let it take my to sweet dream paradise. 

As I did a deeper dive into PEMF therapy, I was fascinated to learn that it’s been proven to:
- Reduce stress
- Elevate energy
- Aid in muscle recovery
- Improve circulation
- Aid in sleep
