Hi my name is Jennifer and I have #PCOS

In my early twenties I started gaining weight with no explanation

It was shortly after my grandfather passed so I just blamed it on grief and depression

Then the other symptoms started to follow:

Insomnia, excessive sweating, mood swings, depression, anxiety, fatigue, etc

I remember sitting in the endocrinologists office begging for them to run more tests to try to understand what was wrong with me because being told all your labs are fine was not an answer I was willing to accept

They told just to lose weight and address all my symptoms separately

YEAH, OK

Sadly it took until the age of 34 to find the right doctor who would listen to my issues and run the correct blood work to finally say you’re not crazy, you have a hormonal imbalance and a hormonal condition

Some days I wake up in a great mood and feel good about my body and others like today, I woke up feeling like crap and my lower stomach bloated out

And that’s why PCOS is a god damn bitch

There is no cure but only ways to maintain and even then some days are worse than others

If you suffer from it too, I feel your pain

Stomach fat is probably my biggest insecurity and trying to lose it with PCOS is a nightmare

Alas, I continue to move forward with my gut health and weight loss journey because ultimately the goal is just to have energy and feel good
