Today was my third full training session with @poflo.fit at @clubfitness.us

On my very first session we went over in detail everything I was trying to accomplish going forward and I explained to him all of my health issues and concerns as well

I told him my biggest hurdle right now are the thoughts in my head. Before having meningitis I was invincible. I was slinging around 30-35 lb weights like they were nothing! Now I’m lucky if I can lift my arms the next day after using 15 lb weights 😔

I get so hard and down on myself because I feel like I’ve gone backwards but I just have to accept I was ill and it’s out of my control but I can control how I move forward

I can’t do as much as I want just yet but I will work up to it and get back to those same weights again. I just know it

Paul has been so patient with me and offering modifications for me as needed. At first I told myself I don’t need a trainer that I know what I’m doing, I’ve been working out for awhile but coming back from such a vulnerable place, he really has helped me ease back into it without going overboard (which I tend to do 🥴)

We even set up a google doc for homework to do on days when I’m not with him! It’s been so helpful. My workout is written out for me and I don’t have to think twice about what to do
