Emma Enright @emmaenrightart is a textile artist, designer, and one of Centre[3]'s artists in residence. Through our annual program, we support artists in creating a new body of work by offering space and resources for artistic production.

"My work investigates the materiality of textiles with an emphasis on weaving. I embody traditional weaving techniques to create handwoven cloths for interior spaces, by weaving with tapestry and floor looms. I also incorporate hand and machine stitching into my designs."

Q: What have you learned throughout your residency at Centre[3]?
My time at Centre3 consisted of creating woven textile artworks using several looms,
embroidery techniques, and felting. I also was able to make considerable use of the print studio by creating varied print techniques with textiles. As well, I was able to document my work and create a video for my installation at Centre 3 in February 2023.

Q: Who would benefit from applying for the artist residency at Centre[3]?
Many artists and designers would benefit from the residency at Centre3. The studio spaces are large and inviting and the technicians are open and engaged in helping with any projects or questions. Having this residency allowed me to create a cohesive body of work, as well as create further resources and connections down the road.
