howdy. i know i haven’t been telling y’all much about how i’ve been doing. so much has happened over the past couple of months I’ve needed to take a step back. there are so many layers to everything, but i’ve been going to therapy once a week, working through a lot. i’ve been in a weird grief period of letting go of my old self and situations. right now, I’m in a much better spot than i have been this entire year.

as many of you know, i have dealt with shin issues for about a year in my left shin. after christmas break, my shin pain(MTSS- Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome) went away but was followed by a much sharper pain in my opposite shin. i was in a boot for about two weeks and then was able to start running a little after a couple weeks! but the pain has recently come back, so i will be getting an MRI this weekend.

although this injury has been super frustrating….i wouldn’t change it. i get emotional every time i think about where i was just a couple of months ago—trapped in a cycle of just needing to get through and perform what i could. i’ve hurt and overworked my mind and body so much this year…she has every right to be angry. 
so now she deserves love. 
she deserves healing. 
she deserves what i thought i couldn’t give her months ago.

this injury has taught me my strength to stand up for myself. this injury has taught me who AMBER is. this injury has opened my eyes and helped me get clarity that i may have never reached. i’m NOT a runner. running is something that i do. running is something that i love with all of my heart. but running does NOT define me. 
running does NOT define my worth. 
running will be there when i get back…a smarter version of myself. my goals now are simple. happy and healthy. with that, everything else will come🫶🏼
