“Have Mercy” Voyage Showcase - _outerclass erynallenkane ♥️🥀❤️‍🩹

This piece meant a lot to me for various different reasons. Back in May when I was asked to present work for this showcase, I found myself in a really low place both emotionally & creatively. Emotionally, I was handling situations & feelings that had an almost generational weight to them, which made me feel hopeless. Creatively, I was experiencing a lack of motivation & drive to express myself through all the emotions I was feeling at the time. This beautiful song is one that has seen me through the lowest times in my life, from college until now & this song was the only song I felt like I resonated with at the time. You best believe the imposter syndrome around choreographing a contemporary piece to put on front of an audience added more weight to how I was already feeling…. Yet, I decided to take on that challenge. 

This piece along with the process ended up helping me heal immensely from what I was going through at this time. Grateful for the 7 beautiful ladies who shared their love, energy & stories with me… You all acted as a blanket to catch me during a really tough time without even knowing, all I can say is thank you ❤️ Congratulations outerclass on a phenomenal show, thank you for letting me showcase this part of myself safely ✨ Final shout out to nayunleee who was one of the first people to believe in me to choreograph a contemporary piece for stage back in college (to a version of this song too 🥹), what you & KCN did for me in college as an artist I can never truly repay. There are so many moments meant just for you in this piece, I love & miss you so much!
