Crossing the block with No Reserve Jan. 17-25 during the 2026 Scottsdale Auction at WestWorld.

This 1961 @MercedesBenz 300SL Roadster is powered by its correct 3.0-liter M198 fuel-injected inline-six engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission and is one of approximately 250 examples produced for the 1961 model year. As a late-production Roadster, it features the factory four-wheel disc brake system fitted only to the final years of 300SL production. The car is exceptionally well documented from new and retains matching-numbers chassis, engine, transmission, rear differential, body, steering box, and axles, along with factory equipment that includes U.S.-specification configuration, a Becker Mexico AM/FM radio with Hirschmann power antenna, black soft top, removable hardtop, and optional factory sport wheels. Early service records document delivery to the southern United States and continuous maintenance through the 1960s. In 2014, the car was refinished in a Mercedes-Benz metallic blue color offered during the late 1960s, and it was later entrusted to Coachwerks Restoration of Victoria, British Columbia, for an extensive body-on restoration that included a full rebuild of the M198 engine, comprehensive driveline, brake, suspension, and exhaust overhauls, interior retrimming, brightwork refinishing, and refinishing of the matching hardtop, followed by road testing and break-in. The car is accompanied by fitted luggage and extensive records detailing its ownership history and restoration work.
