Hilary Duff has talked about the queer subtext in the Disney Channel original movie 'Cadet Kelly'.

The film, which released in 2002, follows Duff's character Kelly as she joins a military camp and faces off against Christy Carlson Romano's character Jennifer.

In a video for Vanity Fair, Duff said: “I don’t know if I should say this or not, but I know that the internet had this big thing that this is really like a lesbian love story. I’m just wondering why Disney didn’t wanna follow up with a number two.”
