#Roommates, #TreySongz is taking legal action over an incident that went down at the 2021 AFC Championship Game in Kansas City. According to court documents filed today in the Circuit Court of Jackson County, the singer has filed a civil lawsuit alleging he was assaulted, wrongfully arrested, and detained during the Jan. 24, 2021, game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. _____________________________
The lawsuit names the Kansas City Police Department, GEHA (which operates Arrowhead Stadium), and Whelan Event Services as defendants. Songz claims the incident began when nearby fans allegedly heckled and harassed him because of his celebrity status. The filing describes the fans as “unruly, aggressive, and intoxicated,” and alleges that security and police were called to the area but failed to protect him. _____________________________
The singer also claims stadium security and Kansas City police officers physically assaulted him, placed him in handcuffs, and detained him in jail. If you recall, at the time of the incident, he was arrested for allegedly punching a police officer during the game.
Court records show Songz was charged with trespassing, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer. However, the lawsuit states that all charges were later dismissed.
