#TSRUpdatez: Last October, a judge dismissed the defamation lawsuit #Drake filed against Universal Music Group (#UMG) over #KendrickLamar’s hit song “Not Like Us.” Now, Drizzy has filed an appeal following the dismissal.

According to documents obtained by rollingstone, on Wednesday, Drake and his legal team filed an opening appellate brief to overturn the ruling.

In the brief, Drake argued that the song declared an “unambiguous matter of fact,” that he is a “certified pedophile.” He went on to state that UMG marketed the song to consumers, and that later caused him harm.

The brief also claimed, “The court effectively created an unprecedented and overbroad categorical rule that statements in rap diss tracks can never constitute statements of fact.”

Before his latest filing, Drake filed his notice of appeal on November 12th in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in Manhattan.
