Meechie Johnson scored 20 points, and Kobe Knox added 18 as South Carolina defeated Oklahoma 85-76 on Tuesday night, snapping a three-game losing streak. Johnson was efficient at the line, going 13-of-15, while Knox shot 7-of-11 from the field. Elijah Strong chipped in 17 points, and Miles Stute and Mike Sharavjamts scored 10 apiece as all five Gamecocks starters reached double figures.

South Carolina (11-8, 2-4 SEC) set the tone early with an 11-0 run and never trailed. A pair of free throws by Stute with 7:26 remaining in the first half capped a surge that put the Gamecocks up 28-14. Oklahoma responded by outscoring South Carolina 22-11 over the remainder of the half to pull within 39-36 at the break.

The Sooners briefly threatened early in the second half when Mohamed Wague made 1 of 2 free throws 59 seconds in to cut the deficit to 51-47, but they could not get any closer. South Carolina answered to maintain control of the rest of the way and close out the win.

Xzayvier Brown led Oklahoma (11-8, 1-5) with 22 points, while Tae Davis scored 20 and Derrion Reed added 13 as the Sooners dropped their fifth straight game.

The Sooners will travel from one Columbia to another when they face Missouri on Saturday, January 24th.
South Carolina travels to play Texas A&M on Saturday, January 24th, at Reed Arena.
