Chinyelu became the first Gator in 20 years to record four consecutive double-doubles, matching a streak set by David Lee in 2005. Florida (14-5, 5-1 SEC) took control late in the first half, closing on a strong run that included three 3-pointers in three minutes to build a 12-point lead. Thomas Haugh scored Florida’s final six points of the half during the spurt, helping the Gators take momentum into the break. After halftime, Florida leaned heavily on Chinyelu, who dominated the paint. The defining moment came during a seven-point possession sparked by an LSU flagrant foul. Chinyelu hit a free throw, Urban Klavzar knocked down a 3-pointer and was fouled, and after a missed free throw, Chinyelu grabbed the offensive rebound, scored inside, and converted another free throw to blow the game open. Klavzar finished with a career-high five 3-pointers and 18 points, while Alex Condon and Boogie Fland added 10 points each. Florida extended its home winning streak to 16 games. LSU (13-6, 1-5) struggled offensively. Leading scorer Dedan Thomas Jr. returned from a five-game absence but finished with just two points after missing his first six shots.
