Nate Ament scored 23 points, including 10 across two overtime periods, as No. 24 Tennessee outlasted Texas A&M 87–82 on Tuesday night.

Texas A&M struck first as Tennessee struggled offensively early, hitting just three of its first 17 shots and falling behind 13–8 midway through the opening half. The Aggies shot efficiently from deep and carried a 34–30 lead into halftime after making seven 3-pointers.

Tennessee steadied itself in the second half and had chances to end the game in regulation. With the score tied at 71, Ja’Kobi Gillespie’s 3-pointer just before the buzzer came up short, sending the game to overtime.

The first extra period was equally tight. Ament nearly won it for the Vols with a 10-foot jumper at the horn, but the shot rolled off, forcing a second overtime tied at 75. Tennessee took control in the final five minutes, leaning on Ament’s scoring and dominating the glass to close out the win.

Gillespie finished with 18 points, Bishop Boswell posted 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Felix Okpara added 10 points and 12 boards as the Volunteers outrebounded the Aggies 60–35. Texas A&M saw its six-game winning streak end despite 20 points from Jacari Lane, 16 from Pop Isaacs, and 15 from Ruben Dominguez.
