Puebla y Pachuca se perfilan como las principales ciudades candidatas para ser sede de Sudáfrica durante el Mundial 2026.

La selección sudafricana ya visitó la Angelópolis, para conocer sus instalaciones deportivas y evaluar la logística.  Al mismo tiempo, se rumora que podrían optar por la Universidad del Futbol en Pachuca como base, que es donde entrenan los Tuzos.
