These are Miles’s first few minutes exploring a new DAW that he’s trying out for the first time…. 6-year-old Miles just discovered it (called BandLab) and  immediately loved it!👍🏼 (and best of all it’s free😀)

Very often people ask us how to get started with home music production or how much money it requires.  The truth is, it doesn’t take much these days — seriously!  Not only is this DAW (“Digital Audio Workstation”) free, but it’s also pretty simple to use — Miles caught on to it right away (as you can see)😃 Since Miles uses a desktop computer, he’s actually running BandLab in a web browser here.  But there’s a mobile app version of it too (for phone/tablet), which is also free… although Miles hasn’t had a chance to check that out yet.
 
So the short answer is:  All you need is a computer, or tablet, or phone.  The rest can be free!  And if you don’t have a piano-keyboard like ours (called a “MIDI controller” FYI, ours cost us about $65 USD), then no worries — because you can actually just use your computer’s typing-keyboard or your phone/tablet screen instead (at least, using this DAW you can).
