Have you watched Heated Rivalry yet?!!! If you haven’t, you SHOULD because it feels like every single person on this planet has not only binged watched, they’ve watched three or four times in a row. I first learned about the show while I was at the Golden Globes - it was the talk of the night. As soon as I got home from Los Angeles (even before I unpacked) the first thing I did was turn on Heated Rivalry. From the very first scene, I was hooked. My husband and I watched the series together - and like everyone - we are obsessed with it. The acting was incredible, the storyline was captivating and the ending of season one was so beautiful I cried and didn’t want it to end! It’s beautiful to see men loving men, being so tender and vulnerable, being seen and the show being celebrated by the world and I hope it just creates more and more opportunities for more stories to be told and receiving the global audiences they deserve. One topic everyone is talking about is how women in particular are turned on by watching two male hockey players have hot sex. The intimacy between them, the fears, the feelings that develop, the stigma and the insane tension that builds because of it all - both in the show - and in your own sexual desire as you watch it. I feel like I owe the show a thank you because it turned up the heat in my own bedroom. The question is why? Why are so many women obsessed with two men and their insatiable desire for one other? Well…I just so happened to sit down with Dr. Nicole McNichols, a Professor and Psychiatrist who studies human sexuality and desire and teaches a wildly popular college course on the topic at the University of Washington - so I asked her. I loved what she had to say. I agree - and any chance I have to celebrate and stand up for people’s right to love who they love. I will. Shows like this matter. Representation matters because love is love is love. And ultimately that’s why we love this show. Now… I have to ask you… Team Connor or Team Hudson? You’ll have to guess, which team I’m on…actually - no you don’t. I’m #HudCon all the way. #heatedrivalry
