Ryan Hurst has officially been cast as Kratos in the upcoming live-action 'God of War' series from Sony and Amazon. Hurst already knows this world well, he voiced Thor in 'God of War: Ragnarök,' making this a rare (and very fitting) swap from hammer to Blades of Chaos.

Best known for 'Sons of Anarchy' and 'The Walking Dead,' Hurst will lead the series inspired by the modern 'God of War' games, which follow Kratos’ brutal, emotional journey through Norse mythology alongside his son, Atreus. Casting for Atreus hasn’t been announced yet, but fans are already buzzing about what this adaptation could look like.

With 'Battlestar Galactica’s Ronald D. Moore at the helm, this one’s shaping up to be a big, myth-heavy swing.
