Shabbat Shout out from a HIGH LEVEL AND HIGH ENERGY school-wide spirit day.  And yes, we had to go with Broncos again after their historic win over Buffalo! 

But we are a Jewish Day School, so we had to go a little deeper and ask… what do Judaism and the broncos have in common?

Let’s start with last week. An unforgettable overtime win against Buffalo (sorry Bills fans, it was an interception!). The game was full of pure adrenaline, grit, and heart—followed by the gut punch of Bo Nix’s injury. High highs, real lows. If that doesn’t feel familiar to the Jewish story, you haven’t been paying attention in Judaics class.

Judaism has been practicing resilience for a few thousand years. Counted out? Often. Underdogs? Constantly. Still here? Always. And then Bo Nix goes and says the Broncos aren’t underdogs—they’re “overdogs.” That idea fits. You adapt, you regroup, and you survive. 

And because we’re a Jewish school, we couldn’t resist connecting the dots a little further:

And 18 = chai = life. Coincidence? We think not.

And … this week’s parsha is Bo

So yes, today was orange and blue—but it was also about perspective, humor, and seeing meaning in unexpected places. Playoff football meets Jewish education, Tiger spirit meets Bronco fandom, and the lesson holds: setbacks don’t end the story—they shape it.

Wishing Bo a strong recovery, the Broncos strength for what’s ahead, and our community a Shabbat Shalom!
