## Caption

This week we are celebrating our 2020 Spirit of the Loppet award recipients given to members of our community who exemplify our core values.
.
Our first recipient is @kylejonhansen who is an advocate and active member in the North Minneapolis community. Kyle is the physical education teacher at Mary McLeod Bethune Community school, an elementary school with 94% students of color and 95% free and reduced lunch.
.
At Bethune, Kyle goes the extra mile to get his kids outside and active, not only linking students to our Minne-Loppet program every winter, but also running bike programs for summer students.
.
Over the past two winters, Kyle has been the driving force behind “Cool Meets Cause,” a program based at The Trailhead. With a dedicated group of volunteer coaches, the program connects girls of color from the North Minneapolis community to snowboarding, and ensures that the girls all have the equipment and gear they need to shred with confidence and style. Kyle’s belief in the power of his students is infectious!
. .
Help ensure that the Loppet community can continue doing our good work. If you are able, consider making a donation today at Loppet.org/give (link in bio). #SpiritOfTheLoppet
