Fairies, what’s your favourite love interest trope and why? We’d love to know! 🌹

Call us hopeless romantics, but we’re a sucker for love and romance in fantasy. One of our favourite tropes has to be grumpy x sunshine! The brooding warrior who meets the cheerful mage. The shadow wielder who can’t stay away from the bubbly scholar. The cynical thief who’s entranced by the earnest knight. We want them all! 😍

We adored this trope in the Fate’s Thread duology by Sophie Kim. There’s something about watching a centuries-old, fallen god slowly soften around someone who refuses to let his brooding go unchallenged. Give us an immortal grump who meets a determined optimist in Korean folklore settings every single time. ☀️
