Organized by the Hallie Ford Museum of Art, “D. E. May: Postcards from Islandsalem” is a sweeping look at an Oregon artist whose collages, drawings, paintings, sculptures and other works evoke building documents, architectural plans, city grids and objects of quiet contemplation. 

May was born and raised in Salem and spent his entire life here, referring to the area as "Islandsalem." The exhibition opens Jan. 24 and continues through March 21, 2026, at the Hallie Ford Museum of Art, 700 State St., in downtown Salem. Learn more at the link in our bio.
